The Mystic Dilemma: Current Scientific Terminology Fails to Describe Rest
Every Mystic desiring to scientifically describe the Divine Trinity of Mind at Rest in Balanced Thinking has faced the following dilemma: modern scientific language was designed to describe effects, not Cause. It therefore cannot accurately describe Mind at Rest or the two-way nature of Thinking which never departs from that Rest. A Lexicon for Rest is required to prevent the continual reversal of Cause and effect which arises when the seeming of one-way motion is assumed to be fundamental.
As Walter and Lao Russell stated decades ago as an author’s note in the Universal Law, Natural Science and Philosophy Home Study Course, even the terms “electricity” and “magnetism” are not descriptions of truth but mere placeholders utilized in accepted terminology to prevent confusing the student who is not yet prepared for the specialized Lexicon for Rest.
The Russell’s were working on a new vocabulary that went beyond the empirical of public understanding (sense-based), and I have been contemplating such new vocabulary since the State in the fire. In Self-communion, I listen with inner ears to a Lexicon for Rest vocabulary that accurately captures illuminated truth beyond the reach of standard definitions. By clinging to our current flawed labels, the sense of illusion continues to reign sovereign as the observer is led into a labyrinth of wrong conclusions. Whether the student is ready or not, it is high time to complete what the Russell’s started.
On January 16, 1944, 82 years ago to the day of this publishing, Walter Russell wrote a letter to the author of a New York Times article, discussing the failure of scientific terms as we know them on the grounds that “things are not as they seem to be” (to our senses). In particular, he discussed the impossibility of the existence of “magnetic current” – because stillness does not move. Thinking is the only motion there is, and it is two-ways, and it does not depart from rest.
This failure to understand Reality via sense-based observations is illustrated by the railroad tracks analogy. Just as parallel tracks appear to meet at the horizon, the deceptive observations of modern science lead to theories built upon the optical illusion of one-way vision. When one relies on accepted terminology to describe a “one-way moving” universe, one remains blind to the immutable nature of the reality of the Trinity of Knowledge and Two-Way Thinking behind the effect.
“Every effect of motion is an illusion which would deceive us if it could. We should be on the lookout for such deception always in order to avoid wrong conclusions.” ~ Walter Russell, Jan 16, 1944 in a letter to the New York Times
The limitations of external language seem to veil the Absolute, wherein motion is revealed not as a primary force, but as an optical illusion of Mind’s Two-Way Thinking seemingly divided into one-way motion.
Challenging the “Current”: Magnetism as a Static Gauge
The functional misclassification of magnetism as a “current” is a catastrophic error in contemporary physics. In the architecture of Walter Russell’s Universal Law, a strategic distinction exists between the “work” done by electricity and the “measuring and surveying” role of magnetism. Electricity is the “worker” of the universe; magnetism, conversely, does no work. Magnetism is the measuring and surveying stillness that maintains balance between the concentrative and decentrative halves of the one Two-Way Thinking motion of Rest.
Russell states in the letter that “to speak of a ‘magnetic current’ is not only inaccurate but impossible…. One might as appropriately speak of a ‘weight current’ simply because objects seem to move in the direction of gravity. Magnetism functions like a thermometer: just as a thermometer does not create the heat or cold it gauges, magnetism merely measures and balances the intensity of the contraction and expansion of Thinking electricity reflects. Furthermore, Russell disputes the claim that “single magnetic poles” or “magnetic ions” can be produced by friction or light on the basis that it is a conclusion based on entirely wrong premises. To claim a single magnetic charge can exist is as inharmonious to the Two-Way Thinking Process of Natural Law as the claim that “dry water” can be produced. Magnetism is the insurer of (two-way) equality, the state of Rest that prevents the universe of seemingly only one-way effects from departing from balance.
Why Power Resides in Rest in Two-Way Thinking, Not in One-Way Effects of Motion
Elsewhere, Russell states that the Voidance Principle is the most critical concept in physics, yet humanity remains obsessed with the extraction of value from the illusion of one-way effects. This obsession is a direct violation of Universal Law. Power does not exist in the illusion of one-way effects of motion; it is sealed in the stillness in which Two-Way Thinking resides. Our civilization is collapsing because it is built on the mistaken assumption that one-way effects like speed, pressure, and motion themselves can generate energy. In truth, the power man seeks is at rest in the Reality of the Magnetic Light that centers Two-Way Thinking, not in the illusion of one-way effects.
The Four Reversals of Universal Law
Humanity’s search for power and the language used to describe its findings has been built upon four fundamental reversals of Natural Law. Each reversal arises from mistaking the illusion of one-way effects of motion for the Source of the two-way Thinking motion, and from identifying effects of motion as primary instead of Rest.
1. Power is the Magnetic Zero — not in motion
Power does not reside in the charging or discharging halves of effects of motion, but at the still Magnetic center which measures, balances, and controls both at once. This zero-point of rest is the fulcrum of all action and reaction. The Magnetic center of Balanced Thinking is therefore the only Source of power and its lawful expression.
2. Motion is Two-Way Thinking — not one-way force
All motion is the rhythmic interchange of One Thinking, expressed simultaneously as two equal and opposite conditions:
Concentration (radially inward towards center centripetal motion of Thinking) and Decentration (radially outward towards measured boundary planes of rest centrifugal motion).
These two halves never separate from their pairing, nor from the control of the stillness that centers them and is extended to wavefield boundary planes to control them. The illusion of one-way motion arises only as the senses observe one half of the wave and mistake it for the whole. The whole wave can only be Known in Rest.
3. Effects are continuously voided — nothing accumulates
Every effect of motion is simultaneously cancelled by its opposite in accordance with the Voidance Principle. Expansion is balanced by contraction; radiation is balanced by gravitation. Nature never stores power in effects, but returns them to rest for re-expression. Systems which attempt to accumulate energy, pressure, speed, or force violate this law and must escalate effort until collapse restores balance.
4. Taking violates rhythmic interchange — giving for regiving is Law
Creation does not operate by acquisition, but by balanced interchange. Nature gives in order that giving may be regiven, completing the cycle of Two-Way Thinking that is eternally expressing and re-expressing the Idea of Creation. When humanity seeks to take from effects instead of centering in the Source of Thinking to give for regiving, it violates the rhythms of Universal Law and sets up the seeming of resistance, scarcity, and conflict.
True efficiency is recorded by the world of effects only by returning attention to the Still Center and thereby balancing one’s Thinking.
Rest Point Recovery: Centering Thinking in Rest
Rest Point Recovery (RPR) is the conscious, voluntary return of attention to the still center of Balanced Thinking. It is not a trance or a withdrawal from life, but a Spiritualized Reality Therapy that corrects the fundamental mis-reference of human identity to divided effects of Thinking motion vs Thinking centered in eternally undivided rest. Humanity mistakenly attempts to find identity in the illusion of one-way effects—the body and its sensations—rather than in the Source of their expression, and the very inspiration to manifest a body that reflects the perfection of Source.
RPR serves as the interchanging point of “I AM,” wherein the Mind knowingly centers Balanced Thinking. This is an ontological reality: nothing in Mind ever departs from rest – every half of the one Thinking motion is balanced by its opposite. Balanced Thinking is the ecstatic State of Mind at rest, and its effects of body, relationship and environment are desired. What appears as “error” or “evil” is merely an effect of unbalanced thinking – the attempt to center thinking in the record of effects vs in Magnetic Source. When identity is anchored in the still Source of Thinking, effects of motion are no longer created by subconscious reaction but arise from consciously expressing the balance of Source.
Functional Outcomes of Rest Point Recovery:
- The Body: reflects health and regeneration by Mind’s alignment of physical processes with the Voidance Principle
- The Mind: Is restored to clarity and creativity through the rhythmic ecstasy of Stillness centering Balanced Thinking.
- Relationships: Are relieved of conflict by rest in the law of balanced giving for regiving.
- Energy Systems: Are designed to lawfully simulate Balanced Thinking by commanding effects of motion to utilize their innate measure of magnetic reversal.
This internal re-centering is the absolute prerequisite for the birth of an inspired vocabulary for the science of rest and the mastery of destiny.
Unveiling the Inspired Vocabulary: The Path Forward
The recentration of Rest Point Recovery is the only source from which a true Lexicon for Rest can arise, because only in Rest is Knowing undivided. It is the only viable path to an inspired vocabulary that transcends the insufficient terms of today that are based on the sense of division. Recentration aligns Thinking directly with the Laws of the Absolute, moving beyond belief in the deceptions of the senses to the realm of Knowledge.
“Knowledge alone controls our destiny.” ~ Walter Russell
This alignment facilitates a resurrection of Mind—not a repair of the old, but rest in the desire to Think with balance, without distortion. By returning attention to the Rest Point of Mind, we stop the futile attempt to take effects of motion, and begin the rhythmic process of centering their giving for regiving.
The return to rest transforms existence from consumption into creation and replaces frantic effort with divine rhythm. In this stillness, we do not merely change our words; we command their very creation.
